The need for a "Rapid State Forces"

Updated: Dec 12, 2021

In 2016, the Liyuu police militia brutally killed 52 unarmed civilians in the village of Jaamac dubad on the first day of Ramadan. This included 9 women and children and many were slaughtered while seeking sanctuary in the village mosque. The villagers have close tribal ties to the Somalilanders of Togdheer.

This was one incident in a series of events along the southern border, in the area known as the Hawd and reserved area perpetrated by the Western funded liyuu police. This group of bandits are notorious in the region for their violation of Human rights.

Their callous nature knows no bounds, not even the respect of international borders, they have been known to cross over the Somaliland border and harass civilians. However in the border-town of Balidhiig, when confronted by the Somaliland army, the liyuu police fled back across the border.

Our national army is mainly focused on securing the Eastern border with Puntland state of Somalia, when the far graver threat is to our south. The solution is to form a paramilitary unit, with it's garrisons stationed in the towns of Borame, Wajaale, Allaybaday, Baligubadle, Salaxley, Duruqsi and Balidhiig. Its purpose is to defend the southern borders and citizens of our nation living outside our borders.

The soldiers will mainly be recruited from these border communities but any citizen of the nation can join the RSF as part of National service. The force will come under the ministry of defence and must abide by the laws of the Republic of Somaliland
